Coordinated Health, a privately held, physician-owned acute care hospital network in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey, with a current location at Church Hill Mall, broke ground today on a 42,000 square-foot state-of-the-art medical campus and ambulatory surgical center in Humboldt Station at the intersection of Route 924 and Interstate 81. Humboldt Station is located in Hazle Township, adjacent to Humboldt Industrial Park.

Coordinated Health officials were joined by representatives from CAN DO along with state and local leaders at the groundbreaking, including PA Senator John Yudichak, Rep. Tarah Toohil and Rep. Gerald Mullery. Local officials who spoke at the event included Jim Montone, chairman of the Hazle Township Board of Supervisors; Mary Malone, president of the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce; and Brian Poveromo, president of the Humboldt Park Association.

The six-acre Coordinated Health campus is the company’s 17th location and is projected to open in Spring 2017. It will offer orthopedics, sports medicine, joint replacements, spine care, foot and ankle care, hand and wrist care, cardiology, women’s health, specialty care, advanced imaging and rehab. Additionally, the medical campus will feature a primary care and employer clinic for occupational health, workers’ compensation and on-site/near-site care.

Coordinated Health has offered world-class care to Greater Hazleton residents and employers since opening in early 2012 from its current location Church Hill Mall on Church Street in Hazle Township with eight physicians.

Coordinated Health CEO, Emil Dilorio, MD said he envisions the new Humboldt Station campus will further demonstrate that Coordinated Health is a part of the community and the future of Hazleton.

“We believe that the residents and employers of Hazleton and Luzerne County deserve the highest level of quality, access and care,” said Dr. DiIorio. “With the addition of our new ambulatory surgical center, patients will now have a choice for a new level of out-patient surgical procedures in a beautiful, safe and modern environment, close to home.”

CAN DO President Kevin O’Donnell said, “Coordinated Health’s new facility will be an outstanding addition to Humboldt Station. The company has said that the new campus will employ 50 professionals, the 30 who currently are employed at the Church Hill Mall facility, and 20 additional team members supporting the ambulatory surgical center. We welcome these high-quality jobs to our area.”

Humboldt Industrial Park is one of the largest industrial parks in Pennsylvania, stretching more than 5 miles long and two and one-half miles wide at it widest point.

“Coordinated Health’s new center will be an ideal addition to Humboldt Station for the more than 60 companies and 10,000 employees that are in our industrial park,” O’Donnell said.

Coordinated Health employs more than 1,000 people and operates from 17 locations, five of them across the Northeast region of Pennsylvania including: Lehighton, Pittston, East Stroudsburg/Pocono and Broheadsville.
