Matthew G. Nause was honored with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award by the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce and award sponsor CAN BE during the Chamber’s annual Business and Community Awards Luncheon on October 27. CAN BE (Community Association for New Business Entrepreneurship) is the entrepreneurial arm of CAN DO, Inc.

CAN DO President and CEO Kevin O’Donnell presented the award to Nause during the ceremony.

“Entrepreneurship is a vital component of the Greater Hazleton business community. CAN BE is honored to present the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the third year in a row,” O’Donnell said.

Nause is the owner of Nause Contracting, A&B Asphalt Paving and Sealcoat, and Wreck Transport. He has been inspired to be an entrepreneur since he was a young boy watching and working with his family side by side to make their business successful.

His inspiration to become a business owner came from his own knowledge and experience of the area and having the vision to see a demand for the scope of work he was looking to provide.

Nause works hands-on at all times with his employees to ensure business success. His business strategy and long-term goals are to provide services to meet every customer’s expectations and sustain a competitive advantage in the marketplace so his business can be passed on to the next generation.
