Hazleton for the Holidays webCAN DO and the City of Hazleton invite the community to celebrate ‘Hazleton for the Holidays’ during City Hall’s Annual Tree Lighting as well as the 30th Annual CAN DO Community Christmas. These festive and family-friendly events are part of the Hazleton Holiday Celebration, which will be held on Wednesday, December 6th, at City Hall Block – 40 N. Church Street from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

This year’s event is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Mayor’s Office, CAN DO, the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress (DHAP), Hazleton Parks and Recreation, and the Hazleton Public Library as part of the new 'Hazleton for the Holidays' campaign, a city-wide initiative to unite the community in festive celebration.

The evening’s primary event will feature the Mayor’s City Hall Tree Lighting, which begins at 5:00 pm. In addition, the Hazleton Library will have the Grinch on hand for family photo opportunities as well as light refreshments.

Immediately following the tree lighting ceremony, please join CAN DO’s Student Action Committee for the 30th Annual CAN DO Community Christmas from 6:00-8:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, also located within City Hall Block at 210 West Green Street. This year's concert promises an evening of enchanting musical performances by music programs across the Greater Hazleton Area, including Mary Lichtenwalner and the Hazleton Area High School Jazz Ensemble, Sandra Hoppey and the McAdoo/Kelayres Elementary/Middle School Choir, Kimberly Sharonoff and the Hazleton Area High School Crooners, Neil Forte and the Cellar Dwellarzz, and Rachel Brimmer with the Heights-Terrace 3rd Grade Choir.

CAN DO Community Christmas webThe 30th Annual CAN DO Community Christmas was coordinated by student co-chairs Lachlan Segedy of Marian High School and Alex Composto from MMI Preparatory School.
